Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present a general approach of structuralism that covers all the social sciences, in order to then show differences in the specific structuralisms of some of its most important disciplines. The motivation behind this is to show the validity, richness, and usefulness of the concept of structure and structura- lism, in relation to the shift towards subjectivity in which hermeneutics, cultural studies, and postmodern thinking have operated in social research lately.
