This article shows a synthesis of a study that ai- med to look into the types of motivation towards the pursuing of a music degree and the causal attributions in students of a music school loca- ted in the city of Cochabamba. Thanks to this research, it was possible to identify the types of motivation in this population and the factors that directly or indirectly affect their increase or decrease. It is worth mentioning that this research will provide a novel look into the development and performance of the musical career in Bolivia. This insight will serve both the participating school and the psychology department; since there is a little research which address this issue in Bolivia. In addition, this research work contri- butes methodologically to the adaptation made of the CEAP48 scale and with the construction of semi-structured interview models, not to mention that the research itself is an important procedural contribution.
