“The poetics of the circle” is an interpretive reflection on the narrative work of the writer Oscar Cerruto and his storybook “Cerco de penumbras”. A valuable contribution due to its narrative, aesthetic and conceptual qualities. But the main interest in the work is focused on the development of quiteparticular features, of bearing the strain in the stories and how the author’s style becomes decisive for the handling of perplexing atmospheres and the rethinking of the reading experience, in an attempt to solve the literary enigma of the work. What makes it a proposal that can lead us from a current reading, to inquire into a poetic of terror or of the sinister, from the way in which the violence of mystery is activated in everyday life.
